In Uganda, smallholder farmers form the backbone of the country’s food system, yet millions continue to face challenges that limit their productivity and livelihoods. Many farmers lack access to timely, reliable, and practical agricultural advice, leaving them vulnerable to unpredictable weather, pests and diseases, poor post-harvest handling, and fluctuating market prices. These challenges not only reduce crop yields and household incomes but also directly affect children, contributing to food insecurity, malnutrition, and limited access to education. For farming households, even small improvements in practices can transform daily life and future opportunities for children.
To address this critical gap, we are preparing to launch the Climate Smart Agriculture product pilot, an innovative hybrid digital advisory platform designed to reach farmers in the way that works best for them. The platform combines a mobile application for smartphone users and a USSD service for farmers with basic feature phones, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility across different literacy and technology levels. While key technical features are being kept confidential during our patent and trademark process, the platform provides actionable guidance, timely updates, and practical advice to improve productivity, reduce losses, and enhance market access.
We are inviting farmers, farmer groups, and agricultural enthusiasts to join our waiting list for the pilot phase. Participants will be among the first to experience the platform, provide valuable feedback that shapes its development, and become part of a growing community working to strengthen food security and improve livelihoods. Early testers will gain hands-on access to both the mobile app and USSD system before they are widely available, ensuring the platform is practical, inclusive, and effective.
Spaces for the pilot are limited, so we encourage you to sign up today and be part of this exciting journey toward smarter, more resilient farming.
